Kayle

These past few weeks have been a whirlwind with lots of Senior Portrait sessions and I LOVE this time of year! There are so many great kids and I love to spend time with them, get to know them and get them some great portraits to use for their "end-of year" honors and various slide shows and yearbook ads.
I have high hopes of getting most of the sessions on my blog because I really want to share each young person with you.
The most recent one I have had the priviledge to photograph is Kayle. She is a beautiful young senior who is a dancer in the local school dance team. I have known her for years and was so excited when she called about a session. It's hard to believe her senior year has come.
I know she is a wonderful friend and leader at her school. She has a quiet certainty about her that shows her security in who she is. She has a beautiful smile and is easy to be with. We had a really fun afternoon together.
Kayle, I am so excited about your future. You have a great plan laid out and I know others lives will be enriched by getting to know you next year. I wish you lots of happiness. Please stay in touch.

They're Engaged!

I had the pleasure of photographing the cutest couple ever the other day! Really! They were adorable! BethAnne and Ryan are newly engaged and we had to hurry and find a time to take the pictures before Ryan had to leave for the Marines. He was shipping off in two days from the time these pictures were taken and will not be back till just before the wedding. Can you imagine? But they both had the best attitude about it. I'm so thankful that there are some great young people in our country who will give up time with their family and "fiances" to go serve on our behalf.
I was excited to do engagement pictures in an urban setting. It helps when you have a very photogenic couple, which I certainly did.
It was a beautiful day and we had lots of fun!
BethAnne and Ryan - I had so much fun getting to know you.  Thank you for your selfless giving to help in the cause of protecting our country. I wish the best for you both and hope that you are blessed 100 times over for giving of yourselves during this special time in your lives.

New Year

I'm sitting here having a rare moment of solitude during these holidays. The windows are open, due to the crazy Texas weather, and I am listening to my girl play her guitar on the front lawn. My other girl is writing a new song on the piano and showing it to her dad. (Yes, we usually have at least two musical instruments going at once here.)
The other girl, her husband and brother are out "dirt-biking".
We've been cooking some good stuff, watching football, talking, catching up, getting over the flu, reveling in the new year with friends, getting ready for a new semester of school, and more. It's such a crazy time of endings and beginnings. Having so much fun you can hardly stand it while pushing thru some nagging problems that have to be dealt with. Yes, this is life! Wonderful, crazy, scary, careful, hopeful, joyous, beautiful!
Somehow, I am truly overwhelmed at this particular moment. Why? I don't even know. I can't see more than a step ahead of me - though I desperately want to see this whole year and plan it out and fix all the kinks before anyone has to feel them. But how do I even think I would be wise enough to do that, to make all the right decisions.
I'm so thankful I don't even have the choice to do that. Oh how I would screw it all up!
“Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”- Psalm 90:12
I don't have to see it all - I just have to stay close to the only one who CAN see it. I want a heart of wisdom!
Thanks for indulging me. No pictures this time - but I am looking forward to more of those this year. Can't wait to see who I will meet and get to know through our sessions.
Have a truly wonderful year! Hope to see you in mine

Kelcie

I always enjoy taking pictures of girls on my favorite Dance Team. They go to high school where our kids went. And two of our girls enjoyed being a part of the same team. Lot's of good memories!
These girls are always so easy to photograph. Maybe because of their "dancers" body and poise - or maybe just because they are beautiful! I am really glad I get to stay in touch with them.
Last week I had fun shooting a session with Kelcie! She has such a gracious attitude and is so easy to be with. We started off at the Arboretum - then finished up at some nearby train tracks. Actually, I got to shoot some the next day too since the "time change" threw us off a bit.
These are some of my favorite shots from the session.
Kelcie, I hope you have a wonderful senior year! I know you are and will continue to be a wonderful leader in the drill team! Your humble attitude but hard-working spirit are a perfect combination to lead.
Can't wait for Spring Show!!

Erin

I wanted to show you a few pictures of someone I met recently. Her name is Erin. She is a beautiful girl who is in her senior year of high school and I was able to do some Senior Pictures for her. She was really a lot of fun. She has beautiful porcelain skin, radiant red hair and a wonderful smile!
At first she had a hard time taking serious shots because she couldn't do it without laughing; but as you can see, she got it down.
I LOVED doing her urban shots! There is something so cool about a beautiful person juxtaposed against our city's oldest but historical backgrounds.
See what you think. I think she's a winner.
