Seniors coming and going!

Love, love, love shooting Senior guys! They are so easygoing and fun. I especially love when I get to spend time with their parents for the afternoon, too!
A few weeks ago I got to shoot a handsome football player who is on his way to play for his college team. Tyler is a great big boy who was raised by some really fun people that I know and adore. We visited a golf course where he plays golf and then headed downtown for some urban shots. I thought he looked just as great in a football jersey as he did in a suit and tie.

I can't believe this guy is headed off to school. It's so good to know that such quality kids are heading out to take their place in the world.
Tyler, you make it easy to see your generation of kids as the responsible, fun loving and ambitious group that they are. Good luck in all you do this next year and beyond.

I know your parents are so proud of you! Thank you for letting me spend the afternoon with you and your mom. I had a great time!

And just as some seniors are leaving - there are more coming up to fill their places. This is their big year!
I got to shoot another great guy named Raegan who's family I also know and love. He's a tall handsome football player also. I had heard he was really likable and easygoing and he certainly was. His family and ours go way back but I had not had the opportunity to get to know Raegan as I had his older brother. He got to see more of me than he bargained for with our shoot being cut short by rain. We did part of it one day and part of it on another day. But we got it done. His easy smile made for some great pictures. But you know that I love the serious ones as well so....

Oh my gosh! He is adorable! Uh hmm...I mean handsome.
I love his mom and was so happy to get to spend a few hours with her as well. We went to the football stadium, downtown and to a field I love to go to. Raegan was a real trooper with us women directing and making him change clothes so often.
The last ones were actually taken on the grounds of the high school he attends. That was nostalgic and fun for me since our kids went there as well.

Raegan, I appreciate, so much, you hanging in there with me as we finished out the shoot over a couple of days. You never complained and just kept on looking great! I have loved watching from the sidelines (literally) as you've grown from the little elementery school kid into a wonderful young man. I hope you enjoy this year as a captain of the football team and in everything else you do as a senior. Enjoy every minute!

Heather

Here's another senior girl to introduce you to. She was really a delight to work with. Her name is Heather and she is the captain of the high school dance team that I love to keep up with.

She's got a quiet sophistication about her with just enough "girliness" thrown in to keep things fun.
We had a great day to shoot. Spring was not too far away and some pretty colors were starting to come out. And getting Heather to look good was...well, I guess she pretty much looks good all the time. I just got to catch it on my camera.

Before the shoot, Heather had told me about her mom's struggle with breast cancer and how she wanted to honor her by featuring a special necklace given to her and her sister by their grandmother. I loved getting to help her mark this time in her life that will forever be remembered as the beginning of a new level of love and commitment in the life of her family. She wore the necklace beautifully!

My prayers and love go out to your family, Heather. Thank you for letting me be a part of this special time in your life. Congratulations on all you have accomplished and all that you will become in the next exciting years!

That great smile!

Doesn't she just have the most inviting smile? It's contagious!
Aimee and I spent several hours out in the cold a few weeks ago. But we came away with some of the greatest shots! I was really thankful to have such a gracious subject that could withstand the temperature and still look like she was having a great time.

I am so honored to be able to take pictures of these great kids. They are so busy. I love to get to spend a few hours with them and get to know them a little bit.
We have known Aimee's family for many years now. She has two really fun brother's. In fact, you can find one (Nich) on this blog just a few pages back. They are all such wonderful people and I was so pleased to get to talk with Aimee about the rest of her year and her future plans.
She is a dancer in the local high school drill team and needed the shots for an upcoming show. I think we got some great ones!

Good luck in the Spring Show, Aimee! You are a beautiful girl with a sweet spirit about you. I love your family and appreciate their support of my work.
Enjoy these last few months as a high school senior. I'm excited for you as you look forward to your next few years in college.

Looking good at 32 degrees!

I've got to hand it to these girls who need senior pictures done this time of year. It's COLD outside - but they take the cutest pictures in clothes that you would normally wear on a bright summer day. And they ROCK it!
Alicia and I went out on a day that couldn't have been much above freezing. How she kept that sweet smile going I'll never know. But smile she did - beautifully! With a model thin body she didn't have much to keep her warm after the coat came off. But she was a real trooper. Here are some of my favorites from our shoot.

No complaints from this girl as we snapped away. I don't know what she has planned for the next few years but I think she would be great doing this professionally. She sure made my job easy.

Such a beautiful girl!

I sure had a great time with you and your mom, Alicia! Thank you for allowing me to take your senior pictures. Can't think of two nicer people to spend a day out in the cold with.

Baby girl!

I've been doing some fun things lately! One of them being photographing this beautiful baby girl. Her name is Hannah and she is the precious grand baby of a sweet friend.
Photographing babies is still new to me but this little girl was so great and her mom and grammy had so many cute clothes for her to wear that we couldn't miss.
Take a look at the fun we had!
Hannah, you are certainly loved!

The Fun of Family!

In December I got to shoot a session of a beautiful family that I happen to love dearly. From Mom and Dad down to the cuddliest baby boy - they are each unique and precious.
Smiles were abundant - which made it really easy for me! And the fact that the kids are adorable AND easy going gave us plenty of time to get some great shots!
I wish I could tell you just some of the wonderful things my friends are doing to raise their children to be very loving and sensitive to others. OK, I will! This summer they took their two oldest kids with them to Africa for a medical mission trip. The kids became fast friends with many of the children in the cities where they stayed and learned the beauty of a different culture. The four of them were very giving in so many ways.
I love every time I talk with them and hear about their day to day lives. It's always fun with four little ones!
They put together a great Christmas card with some of their pictures! Here are some of them. Enjoy!
